Church, the Word declares in (1 Corinthians 6:18–20), “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
Now watch this; Paul didn’t say walk from it, he didn’t say negotiate with it; he said FLEE! In other words, run for your life! Because fornication; physical or spiritual; isn’t just another sin. It’s a sin that attacks the very vessel God made to house His Spirit!
Let’s go back to (Genesis 39:7–12) — Joseph was a man on divine assignment, and temptation came knocking in Potiphar’s house. But Joseph didn’t sit down and explain why he couldn’t sin. No! The Bible says he fled! Glory be to God! “Run, don’t reason!” Because when you try to reason with sin, you end up wrecked by sin! Then (2 Timothy 2:22) says, "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” You can’t chase the flesh, Saints and follow the faith at the same time! Either you run from sin, or sin will run you over! You’ve got to make up your mind today—I’m done renting my body out to lust, pride, and disobedience. My body is God’s temple!
Paul says in (1 Corinthians 3:16–17), “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God?” And again in (2 Corinthians 6:16), “Ye are the temple of the living God!” In other words, the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the grave is dwelling in you! This ain’t no cheap real estate; this is a divine sanctuary! The Holy Ghost don’t live in buildings made by man, He lives in hearts made new by grace! But hear me now; if your body is His temple, you can’t let the devil set up idols in it! You can’t let lust occupy the Holy of Holies! You can’t let bitterness, pride, or fornication hang around where the Spirit of God abides! You’ve got to clean house! Tell somebody, “It’s temple maintenance time!”
Paul says, “Ye are bought with a price!” What price? (1 Peter 1:18–19) tells us, “Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, but with the precious blood of Christ.” Glory to God! (Acts 20:28) declares; He purchased the church with His own blood! Every lash on His back, every nail in His hand, every drop that fell from Calvary paid the price for your redemption! And since you’ve been bought, you’re no longer your own! You don’t belong to your feelings, your desires, or your past; you belong to Jesus Christ!
The devil may tempt you, but he can’t own you. The world may call you, but it can’t claim you. Because the receipt was signed in blood... “Paid in Full!”... Now that you’ve been redeemed, Paul says, “Glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” In (Romans 12:1), he says, “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God.” In other words, what you do with your body matters! How you walk, how you talk, how you live—it all preaches a message!
(Philippians 1:20) says, “That Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.” And (Matthew 5:16) says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” ...When you walk holy, your light shines. When you resist temptation, your light shines. When you say “No” to fornication and “Yes” to sanctification; your light shines!
So Church, hear the Word of the Lord: Flee fornication! Don’t feed it, don’t flirt with it, don’t fight it—flee it! Because you’ve been redeemed, filled, and set apart! You are the temple of the Holy Ghost; bought with a price, sealed with a promise, and called to glorify your God!
Now open your mouth and declare it right now — “Lord, my body is Yours!” “My mind is Yours!”
“My spirit is Yours!” Because I’ve been bought with a price and I will glorify God with all that I am!
