Breaking the Chains of Witchcraft — The Power of Christ Over Darkness!
I came to preach a message that tears down strongholds and exposes the devil’s lies! Because in this generation, witchcraft, sorcery, and occult deception have crept into music, media, entertainment, and even conversations that sound “spiritual.” But make no mistake; what the world calls “energy” and “manifestation,” God calls rebellion and idolatry!
The Bible says in (Deuteronomy 18:10–12), “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” Oh, glory! God didn’t stutter; He said don’t touch it, don’t play with it, don’t tolerate it! Witchcraft is not harmless fun; it’s a direct insult to the Holy Ghost!
(Exodus 22:18), God said, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” In other words, under the Old Covenant, witchcraft brought spiritual death, but under the New Covenant, Jesus gives us power to cast it down and drive it out! Let’s make it plain — witchcraft isn’t just potions and spells. The Bible says in (1 Samuel 15:23), “Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.” Every time a heart says, “I’ll do it my way,” it’s operating in the same spirit that tried to overthrow Heaven! Witchcraft begins where surrender ends.
Paul tells us in (Galatians 5:19–21), “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” That means witchcraft isn’t “mystical” — it’s fleshly! It’s the human spirit trying to control outcomes without God’s authority. Anytime you try to manipulate, control, or dominate through fear or deception; that’s witchcraft! And the Word is clear about the end of it.
(Revelation 21:8) says, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” But thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ, every chain of witchcraft can be broken and every captive can be set free!
Look at the power clash in (Exodus 7:11–12); Pharaoh’s sorcerers threw down their rods, and they became serpents. But Moses threw down the rod of God and it swallowed up their serpents! Hallelujah! The devil can imitate, but he cannot dominate! The power of God always swallows the counterfeit! (Acts 8:9–11) says; there was a man named Simon the sorcerer who bewitched the people, saying, “This man is the great power of God.” But when Philip came preaching Jesus and the Holy Ghost showed up, Simon’s witchcraft lost its grip! You can’t outshine the light of Christ with the darkness of sorcery!
(Acts 13:8–11), Paul faced a false prophet named Elymas the sorcerer, who tried to block the gospel. But Paul, full of the Holy Ghost, said, “Thou child of the devil!” and struck him blind! That’s apostolic authority in action — when you carry the Spirit of Christ, no demonic power can stand in your way! Oh, but I love (Acts 19:19) it says, “Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men.” Glory! They didn’t sell their witchcraft; they set it on fire! Because when Jesus truly sets you free, you don’t manage your demons — you destroy them!
(Isaiah 8:19–20) says, “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Saints, we don’t need horoscopes; we’ve got the Holy Ghost! We don’t need tarot cards; we’ve got the truth of Scripture! We don’t need crystals; we’ve got the Cornerstone, Jesus Christ!
Listen — the devil uses witchcraft to deceive nations, seduce minds, and twist truth. But the Word declares in (Colossians 2:15), “Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Jesus didn’t just break witchcraft; He humiliated it at the cross! The Blood of Jesus dismantled every spell, every curse, every demonic contract!
If you’ve dabbled in darkness, if you’ve opened doors through music, movies, symbols, or sin; the good news is: there’s deliverance in the name of Jesus! (James 4:7) says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” The key is submission — you can’t get rid of what you’re still entertaining! But when you submit to the Lord, the devil loses legal access!
Is every chain of witchcraft broken in your life?” Listen, y'all; there is no hex, no spell, no spirit that can overpower the Holy Ghost inside of you! Glory to God!
