(Proverbs 20:3, Romans 13:13, Romans 16:17, Philippians 2:14–16)
Listen, Church — (Proverbs 20:3) says, “It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.”
Some folks think it’s a sign of weakness to walk away from trouble. But the Word of God calls it honor! When you choose peace over quarreling, wisdom over foolishness, you are showing the world the power of God in your life. Every fool will meddle, stir the pot, start drama, but the righteous man knows: walking in peace brings glory to God.
(Romans 13:13) tells us, “Let us walk honestly…not in strife and envying.” ...Saints, your life is a reflection of Christ. How you walk, how you talk, how you handle conflict; it matters! Don’t be drunk with pleasure, don’t chase sinful desires, don’t pick quarrels, and don’t let jealousy control your heart. Live as if the whole world is watching, because it is! Shine in integrity, conduct yourself honorably, and let your light reflect Jesus in the midst of darkness.
Paul warns in (Romans 16:17), “Mark them which cause divisions… and avoid them.” Listen carefully — there are people in every circle who love to stir conflict, spread gossip, and tempt others to sin. God says, don’t get caught up! Avoid them. Don’t feed the fire. Don’t let division take root in your heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus, keep your heart pure, and protect the unity God has called you to. The enemy wants chaos, but God calls for harmony.
(Philippians 2:14–16) says, “Do all things without murmurings and disputings…that ye shine as lights in the world.” ...Saints, this is practical holiness! Live without complaining, without questioning God’s providence, without stirring up strife. When you do, the world sees something supernatural; a blameless, guileless child of God shining brightly in a crooked and perverse generation. You become a beacon of hope, a carrier of the Word of life, a testimony that God’s Spirit works in us!
Discord is the enemy’s weapon, but peace is God’s power! God calls His people to unity, to humility, to reconciliation, and to love. True followers of Christ don’t sow division; they restore peace. They lift up others. They build up the body of Christ instead of tearing it down. When you walk in this way, you shine, you honor God, and your life becomes a living testimony of His kingdom. Are you ceasing from strife and shining for Jesus? Glory to God!
